Saturday, May 19, 10:00 am – City of Cheboygan Utility System Tour

This one hour tour will show us how the City maintains infrastructure, produces water, delivers water to customers, and how we “recycle” the wastewater that leaves our homes so that it does not pollute the Great Lakes.  Do you have an interest in the environment, proposed Green infrastructure projects, considering a career in an environmental related field or would just like to know how the City utilities function now or in the future?  Meet at the Treatment Plant at 975 N. Huron Street Cheboygan.

Due to the extreme cold weather this winter, water customers in the City of Cheboygan are requested to run a constant stream of water – the size of a pencil in one sink – 24 hours per day until further notice. Credit for running your water will be calculated on the first bill which has an actual meter read.

If you do not run your water, you are likely going to experience frozen water lines and NO water service.

This recommendation is issued for the whole City as of today, January 9, 2018, due to many residential and business customers experiencing frozen water lines.

Be aware that even when there are sun and warmer temperatures, you must continue to run your water.  The sun and warmer temperatures will drive the frost even deeper.

Do not turn your water off until notified by the City.
