December Board of Review

The City of Cheboygan, 2024 December Board of Review will meet in session at City Hall in the Council Chambers, 403 North Huron Street on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 5:15 P.M. for the purpose of correcting a mutual mistake of fact or clerical errors, also correcting qualified Homesteads filed late or in error as disclosed by the current owners and reviewing 2024 Hardship Exemption and Veteran’s Exemption applications.


Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Cheboygan City Council, at its Regular City Council Meeting, will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. for the following:

AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL AND REPLACE SECTIONS 40, 41 AND 42

AND ADD NEW SECTIONS 43 AND 44 TO CHAPTER 52 OF THE CITY OF CHEBOYGAN CODIFIED ORDINANCES

Copies of the Ordinance are on file in the City Clerk’s office or click here: Ordinance: Chapter 52. Public comments, both pro and con, are invited.  If attendance is not possible, written comments should be addressed to the City Clerk, Alyssa Singles, PO Box 39, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721 or emailed to asingles@cheboygan.org for inclusion in the Public Hearing. All written comments shall be received by 4:00pm the day of the hearing.

Closed for Thanksgiving

Please be advised that the City of Cheboygan will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Cheboygan Housing Commissioner Needed

The Cheboygan Housing Commission has an open seat on its Board of Commissioners. Must be a resident of Cheboygan Area School District with desire to promote decent, safe and affordable housing in our community. This is a volunteer position responsible for review of operating reports, attendance at one meeting per month (generally scheduled for the 3rd Thursday at 6:00pm) and special meetings as needed. Prior government, non-profit or business management, accounting or legal experience is helpful but not required.
