Nominating Petitions for November Ballot

Nominating petitions for persons wishing to qualify as a Candidate for the Office of Councilperson or Office of Mayor for the November General Election, November 5, 2024, are available at the City Clerk’s Office, 403 North Huron Street, Cheboygan, Michigan. This is to elect three Councilpersons to fill a full term which expires in November of 2028 and one person to fill the seat of Mayor which expires November 2026. Nominating petitions must be signed by not less than 25 nor more than 50 registered electors of the City.  Nominating petitions must be filed with the City Clerk no later than 4:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Candidates must also file a “Statement of Organization” with the County Clerk pursuant to State Statute.  Failure to do so will result in the Candidate not being put on the Election Ballot.
